Nasstar to acquire KCOM national ICT services business
Nasstar is pleased to announce the acquisition of the national ICT services business of KCOM. The transaction is subject to completion conditions with the sale expected to complete in the coming weeks.
KCOM national is a leading B2B managed connectivity, unified communications, and cloud services provider with several thousand customers throughout the UK. It also has a mature channel model of over 700 partners and resellers. The acquisition will make Nasstar one of the largest independent providers of managed services in the UK with over 1000 employees across the country.
The addition of KCOM national provides substantial scale, and in certain areas, new capability to the Nasstar service offering. This includes enhanced voice and connectivity services and cloud expertise based on partnerships with the two largest providers in the market – Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure. Nasstar will also benefit from the addition of new routes to market via the KCOM national channel network. KCOM national services some of the largest contact centres in the country which adds to Nasstar’s existing expertise.
Wayne Churchill, CEO of Nasstar, said: “KCOM will form a vital part of Nasstar’s growth strategy, and it will be integrated into the business, adopting new, efficient, and scalable systems, and enabling customers to access an enhanced product set. We recognise the value and opportunities the combination of KCOM’s people, capabilities and customers represent and we are confident our strategy will turn this potential into long-term growth and success.”
Dale Raneberg, CEO of KCOM, said: “We have agreed the sale of our national business to Nasstar, a UK provider of managed communications and cloud services to large businesses and public sector organisations. Our regional wholesale and retail business in Hull and East Yorkshire will remain part of KCOM. Our team is investing £100 million to expand our regional network, through which we are making full fibre broadband available to consumers and businesses in towns and villages across East Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire.”
