High-speed network connection to meet increasing demands and data security needs

Yeovil District Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is the organisation responsible for running Yeovil Hospital in Somerset. It works to provide care for approximately 185,000 people in South Somerset, North and West Dorset and parts of Mendip.

The Brief

With increasing demands on the services provided by the Trust, they needed a high-speed network connection that would give medical staff the ability to access and transfer patient data securely and quickly.

The Benefits

The Leased Line services help the two hospitals save a lot of valuable time and increase their data productivity. The ability to instantly transfer data such as radiology reports and 3D scans between Somerset’s two main acute hospitals means that a complete replica of a patient’s file exists at either site, providing peace of mind to medical professionals and patients.

Nasstar’s solution allows for:

  • The ability to share and transfer medical files instantly, anytime, anywhere
  • A fast, uncontended link between Somerset’s two biggest hospitals
  • Free public WiFi with 100% coverage and unlimited usage
  • Increased levels of patient service and care

The Solution

Nasstar provided a Leased Line service which enabled Yeovil District Hospital to have fast and secure access to important medical records. The Trust further identified a need for secure access between Somerset’s two largest hospitals, so Nasstar built a Point-to-Point Leased Line circuit, creating a secure, uncontended, 1GB direct link.

The Nasstar team has proved itself professional in resolving queries and imaginative in developing bespoke connectivity solutions in response to our changing needs.
