Gen AI expertise
The AWS Generative AI Competency demonstrates that Colibri Digital has a broad and sophisticated range of capabilities far beyond technical proficiency. This accomplishment highlights that Colibri Digital is skilled in building and deploying generative AI solutions and operates with a mature business and operational model, ensuring these solutions are strategic, secure, ethical, and cost-effective.
Gaining the AWS Generative AI Competency validates Colibri’s capabilities across several key areas, including:
Strategic AI adoption: Helping businesses create AI strategies that resonate with workforces and align with organisational goals. This includes assessing readiness, identifying valuable use cases, and enabling effective adoption through structured methodologies.
Application development: From design to deployment, building generative AI applications that meet specific requirements and are optimised for performance and cost-efficiency. This includes leveraging CI/CD automation, rigorous testing, and continuous monitoring for reliable operations.
Model training & customisation: Refining foundational AI models to ensure they align with specific use cases. This includes advanced techniques such as fine-tuning, prompt engineering, and leveraging AWS services to achieve optimal performance and strategic alignment.
Operations, support & continuous improvement: Establishing reliable AI operations that allow systems to perform efficiently, with robust post-launch support mechanisms. This includes continuous monitoring, performance optimisation, and mechanisms for gathering and acting on customer feedback to enhance solutions over time.
Security & resilience excellence: Protecting generative AI workloads with best-in-class security measures and comprehensive disaster recovery plans. This includes robust governance, data privacy practices, high availability configurations, and defined Recovery Time Objectives (RTO) and Recovery Point Objectives (RPO).
Responsible AI frameworks: Defining ethical AI guidelines to support responsible deployment practices. This involves ensuring transparency, fairness, user empowerment, and sustainability, as well as implementing bias mitigation strategies.
Cost efficiency & business value analysis: Performing thorough cost modelling and total cost of ownership analysis to optimise AWS resources. This includes providing financial justifications and demonstrating the business value of generative AI solutions through right-sizing and right-pricing strategies.
Sales & engagement methodology: Employing structured processes for engaging with customers and AWS teams. This includes training internal sales staff, collaborating with AWS sales, and using proven methods to identify and drive AI opportunities.
Continuous skill development: Maintaining a commitment to ongoing learning and keeping consultants up-to-date with AWS generative AI services and tools. This involves hosting internal training sessions and ensuring the team remains at the forefront of AI innovation.
Our path to success
This accomplishment was the result of months of dedication and extraordinary teamwork from people across Colibri Digital, involving contributions from the senior leadership team, sales, project management, cloud engineering, data scientists, application engineering, and many others.
Starting in July, the team tackled more than 60 competency requirements and documented over 100 specific deliverables, including four major generative AI case studies with clients in edtech, health tech, management consulting, and political intelligence.
The journey concluded with a 5-hour documentation audit, which Colibri passed with flying colours. AWS auditors were impressed by Colibri’s:
Adaptability: Successfully tailoring solutions to fit specific client needs.
Technical expertise: Demonstrating knowledge with well-organised project documentation.
Preparation: Coming fully prepared and exceeding expectations in every requirement.
What’s next?
With its new AWS Competency status, Colibri is ready to make even greater strides in gen AI. The achievement has amplified Colibri’s credibility and opened exciting new doors for partnerships and opportunities.
Stay tuned as Colibri continues to expand its impact in the AWS and AI landscape!
