Nasstar continues partnership with Treeapp in 2024
Hot on the heels of our successful partnership in 2023, we are delighted to once again partner with Treeapp to develop our sustainability initiatives in 2024.
This year, we are building on our partnership by planting 2,024 trees at a selected site in Dorset. In so doing, we aim to make a meaningful contribution to the restoration and preservation of the forests here in the UK.
Paul Cosgrave, CEO at Nasstar, said: "Continually developing our sustainability goals is so important to Nasstar and I'm delighted to partner with Treeapp again in 2024. Great organisations recognise the importance of sustainable practices and ethical decision-making, and this initiative plays a key part in our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme."
Who is Treeapp?
Treeapp is a global initiative, dedicated to reforestation and environmental conservation, with an overarching goal to improve the world we live in. It works with brands to integrate tree planting into their business, helping to offset their carbon footprint through carbon credits. Treeapp currently operates sites in 13 countries, across the UK and beyond.
What impact will our partnership have?
This year’s project will have a significant impact on both the environment and our sustainability initiatives. Our planting of 2,024 trees will:
Absorb 202.60 tonnes of Co2
Reforest 3,238.40M2
Provide habitats for a diverse range of species
Offer opportunities for outdoor recreation and education
Help to regulate the climate by planting woodland that purifies the air and water
The site we are planting our trees on is open grazing land in Dorset, near the town of Shaftesbury. We aim to reforest the site to attract wildlife, especially bird species such as Lapwing, Grey Partridge, and Yellowhammer. The woodland bird index is a crucial indicator of biodiversity in the area, so we are keen on increasing it.
Our partnership with Treeapp builds on our existing Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme which has already seen the removal of data centres
in favour of public cloud alternatives. By using energy-efficient infrastructure, we have a wider goal to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 32% by 2025.
Sustainability at Nasstar
At Nasstar, we have produced a robust Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Framework to support our sustainability goals and the future of our organisation. Some of our objectives include:
Reducing greenhouse gas emissions by removing energy inefficient technologies
Rationalising physical locations to reduce CO2 emissions
Empowering Employee Resource Groups to drive meaningful change
Creating governance processes that ensure we operate compliantly
